Community Input Requested for DCS Superintendent Search

     The Dundy County Stratton Board of Education is working with the Nebraska Association of School Boards Search Service (NASB) to hire a new superintendent.
     The board is seeking the input of staff and community members regarding the district and the superintendent position.
      NASB has scheduled a visit to the school and community on Monday, February 17.
     The board extends an invitation to the staff and community to participate in the visit to offer their thoughts on the strengths/achievements and challenges of the district and communities, as well as skills, qualities or experience candidates might possess to be successful in the superintendent role.
     NASB staff members will be meeting with various groups throughout the day including community input sessions in both Stratton and Benkelman.
     The meeting schedule for Monday is as follows:
1:30 to 2:30 p.m. (MT) • Administrators, Meeting at Benkelman High School Building.
2:30 – 3:00 p.m. (MT) • Student Council, Meeting at Benkelman High School Building.
3:00 – 3:30 p.m. (MT) • Classified Staff – any and all who would like to attend. Meeting at Benkelman Elementary Building
3:45 – 4:30 p.m. (MT) • Certified Staff – any and all who would like to attend. Meeting at Benkelman High School Building
5:00 – 6:00 p.m. (CT) • Parents/Community Members anyone who would like to attend. Meeting at Stratton Elementary Building
5:30 – 6:30 p.m. (MT) • Parents/Community Members anyone who would like to attend. Meeting at Benkelman High School Building
     In the event you are unable to attend the visit, please feel free to share your comments to the following questions:
1.What are the strengths and achievements of the Dundy County Stratton school district and communities?
2. What critical issues will the district face in the next three years?
3. What background/training/experience should the new superintendent possess?
4. What leadership style/personal attributes are important in the new superintendent?
