Lady Tigers Earn Wildcard into Class D1 Substate Finals

          The DCS Lady Tigers lost for the third time of the season to the Cambridge Lady Trojans on Thursday night.  The two teams played in the Class D1-11 Subdistrict finals at the McCook High School gym.

     Even with the loss the Lady Tigers earned the fourth wildcard and will play in the D1-8 Finals against another wildcard team, the North Platte St. Pat’s Lay Irish.

     The winner will advance to the Class D1 State Basketball Tournament in Lincoln the first weekend in March.

     The Lady Tigers and the Lady Irish will play at Southwest High School at 6PM (MT) on Feb. 28.

     North Platte St. Pat’s defeated DCS in Benkelman 44 to 50 on Feb. 11.

     The first, second,  third and forth place teams from the Republican Plains Activities Conference basketball tournament made the Class D1 Substate finals.   RPAC Champion Cambridge will play Pender in Grand Island on Feb. 28, RPAC third place winner Maywood-Hayes Center will play Diller-Odell on Feb. 28, and forth place Alma will place CWC on Feb. 28.  The Lady Tigers were the RPAC Runner Up.    The winners all move on the Class D1 State Basketball Tournament.
