Hitchcock County fair Will happen, at least 4h events

Hitchcock County Extension Educators are excited to announce that yes there will be a county fair this year.  There will be a few changes due to health directives.
Kimberly Cook, the 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator for Dundy, Hitchcock, and Hayes Counties, says the 4H animal shows, activities, and exhibit halls are expected to be held.
“We will follow health directives and adapt as new directives are given,” she says.  “The process of planning the county fair is an ongoing process and subject to change at the last minute.”
No information has been released on the status of non 4H activities for the 2020 county fair.Cook said the Hitchcock County Fair Board was scheduled to meet yesterday (Wednesday).

In the meantime Cook says for the 4H events they are planning on the following:

GENERAL
hysical distancing of families will be recommended.
and sanitizer stations will be set up.
asks are recommended in enclosed buildings or when in close contact with others.
f you are feeling or believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home.
amilies are expected to monitor their own physical distancing.
EXHIBIT HALL
here will not be interview judging in the exhibit hall this year.  We made this decision to protect our judges and keep the numbers in the exhibit hall down.
n place of interview judging we suggest for 4-H’ers to write an essay telling the judge anything special about their project.  Suggestions –  What did you like or not like about the exhibit?  How could you improve it?  What would you change about it?  Is there something memorable or special about why you made the exhibit?
LIVESTOCK
e will do our best to provide distance between stalling of animals.
e are working on a way to live stream the livestock shows and events.
