Albin Ruzicka June 10, 1933 ~ June 12, 2026

Albin Ruzicka peacefully passed away on June 12, 2026, in McCook. Born on June 10, 1933, in Stratton, to Adolph and Mary (Michalicka) Ruzicka, Albin graduated from Stratton High School in 1951. Following his graduation, he honorably served in the United States Army until 1953, after which he returned home to farm alongside his father. On February 12, 1977, Albin married Linda Leitner. Together, they dedicated their lives to farming and raising cattle. They lovingly raised two daughters and worked side by side in their farming operations until their ground and pastures were leased. Even as Albin’s health declined, their shared love for farming and family remained strong, and they continued to support one another through all aspects of life. Albin was a proud member of the Catholic Workman and the American Legion. He had a deep passion for cattle and was a skilled welder, using his talents both in everyday farm tasks and to create distinctive works of art. His resourcefulness meant he could make or repair nearly anything needed.  Albin’s life was marked by dedication to family, community, and the land he loved. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alice Kidd and granddaughter, Elizabeth Schaffert.  Those left to celebrate his life include his wife of 49 ½ years, Linda Ruzicka; daughters, Amanda (Wade) Felker and Janelle (Chris) Schaffert; grandchildren: Riley, Rachel, Rebecca and Reid Felker and Mathew Schaffert; one sister, Margaret Sughroue; six nephews, twelve nieces and extended family and friends.  “God picked you up in front of all three of us girls on Friday and left a hole in our hearts, but we know that you are at peace and not hurting anymore. We will always love you. You will be in our hearts for the rest of our lives and BY GOLLY we will miss you.”  Love – Linda, Amanda, Janelle and families.  Visitation will be held on Thursday afternoon, June 18, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.
