Warren E. Schaffert November 5, 1964 ~ June 18, 2026

 Warren E. Schaffert, age 61, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones in his home in Trenton, on June 18, 2026.  Warren was born in McCook on November 5, 1964, to parents Eugene D. and Patricia A. (Wallace) Schaffert. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1983 and then attended a Diesel Mechanic School.  Warren spent his life on the family farm near Trenton, where his love for the land and farming ran deep. A skilled mechanic, he could often be found turning a wrench and fixing just about anything. He enjoyed all things with horsepower, especially stock car racing and tractor pulling. As a pilot, Warren cherished every opportunity to take to the skies and shared a special love for flying his planes.  Warren will be remembered for being a hardworking and loving father.  Warren was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Peggy Ohrman.  Those left to celebrate Warren’s legacy are his sons, Daniel (Shandell) Schaffert of McCook, Jaden Clark of McCook, Logan (DeLanie) Schaffert of Culbertson, and Bransen Schaffert (Riley Werkmeister) of McCook; brother, Russell (Lisa) Schaffert of Culbertson; sister, Susan (Martin) Sturzenegger of Scottsdale, AZ; brother-in-law, Darrell Ohrman of Arapahoe; four grandchildren and one on the way, Noah, Calvin, Brooklynn, and Zayah; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 712 Colorado Street, Culbertson, NE 69024; or Angels Care Hospice, 711 E 11th St, Suite A, McCook, NE 69001.  Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 27; St. John’s Lutheran Church – 712 Colorado Street, Culbertson, 69024; 11:00 am – 12:00 pm (Central time)
