Tigers and Falcons move on in Class D2 Football Playoffs

 

The Hitchcock County Falcons and the Dundy County Stratton Tigers football teams have advanced to the second round of the NSAA Class D2 State Football Playoffs.  Both squads dominated their first round home games on Friday.

     The DCS Tigers built a 42 to 0 lead by halftime and reserve players got lots of playing time in the second half.  DCS won 42 to 8.  

     The Hitchcock County Falcons built a 52 to 0 lead over Maywood-Hayes Center by the break and went on to win 78 to 0. 

    It will get a lot tougher from here on out in the Class D2 playoffs for both teams. 

     After the 16 winning teams from the first round were reseeded the Falcons are #2 and the Tigers are #8 and both squads will have home games in the second round.   Hitchcock County, 9-0, will host #15 Humphrey St. Francis, 5-3, in Trenton next Friday (Oct. 28).  Dundy County Stratton, 8-1, will host #9 Johnson-Brock, 8-1, in Benkelman next Friday.
