Wesley Lyle Cobb was born December 27, 1954 in Stratton and passed away peacefully at his home on January 14, 2025. He was the son of Bob and Eldred Cobb and had two older brothers, Norman and Dallas and a younger sister, Lorie. Wes attended Stratton Public Schools and graduated in 1973. At an early age he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. He married Dixie Richard on October 25, 1974 and was blessed with a son, Seth Austin on August 9, 1983. Wes and his family moved to Lincoln, in 1989. Throughout the years he worked for Greens Plumbing and Heating, Colonial Heights Apartment, started his own tree trimming and removal business, and worked for ABC Termite and Pest Control. Wes had many health issues over the years but he faced them all through his positivity and strong faith. His son Seth married Marcelina Gonzales and blessed him with four grandchildren, Josiah, Aubrey, Ezekiel, and Isaiah. They enriched his life immensely. He was very proud of his family and enjoyed teasing and hanging out with them. He especially enjoyed taking family vacations. His grandchildren thought Grandpa could fix anything and was the smartest in the family, so they kept him busy with all kinds of fun projects. Wes was an active member of Radiant Church for 17 years where he served as an usher and greeter. He had a wide range of skills and was always willing to share his talents to help his family and friends from church. He found true fulfillment and joy serving others. Wes is survived by his wife, Dixie of 50 years; son, Seth; daughter in law, Marcelina; grandchildren, Josiah, Aubrey, Ezekiel and Isaiah Cobb; his brother, Norm (Glenna) Cobb; sister-in-law, Diane Cobb; sister, Lorie (Dick) Golding; brother-in-law; Kent (Patty) Richard; and brother-in-law, Larry (Kristin) Webster and many nieces and nephews whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Eldred Cobb; his brother, Dallas Cobb; sister-in-law, Dana Webster and nephew, Shane Webster. Wes’s Celebration of Life was at Radiant Church on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10:00 AM with a luncheon to follow.
