Louis George Rohan, 77, of Ord, died Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. Michael’s Church in Spalding with Rev. Alexander Borzych officiating. Military honors will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Inurnment will take place at later date. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service. Levander Funeral Home of Spalding is in charge of arrangements. Louis Rohan was born to George and Pauline (Krick) Rohan of Spalding, on July 25, 1947. He attended District 19 school in rural Greeley County, prior to attending Spalding Academy where he graduated in 1965. After high school, Louis earned his barbering license and began working for Mike Naughtin at the barbershop in Spalding. In August 1967, Lou began service with the U.S. Army. On December 23, 1967, Lou was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Regina Marie Haggerty at St. Michael’s Church in Spalding. To this union, three children were born: Mark, Ed, and Michaela. After Lou’s military service ended, Lou and Regina settled in Columbus, where Lou resumed work as a barber. After their second child was born, they returned to Spalding to farm. In 1984 they moved to Benkelman before settling in Ord in 1986. Lou worked in farming until his retirement. Lou was a member of St. Michael’s Church from 1949-1984, St. Joseph’s in Benkelman from 1984-1986 and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ord from 1986-present. While living in Spalding, he served as Past-Master of American Legion Auxiliary Post 299. He continued his membership of Post 299 throughout his life. Lou enjoyed camping, riding horses, watching rodeos, and laughing with friends. He always had a joke or a story to make people smile and children were drawn to him. Lou is survived by his three children: Mark (Melanie) Rohan of Ord; Ed Rohan of Arcadia; Michaela (Michael) Mallery of Waverly; five grandsons: Tynan and Connor Mallery of Lincoln; Randy Rohan of Springdale, AR; Willam Rohan of Ord; James Rohan of Arcadia; three great-grandchildren: Damien, Deakin and Hailey; two siblings: Margaret (Jack) Glassmaker of Navato, CA; Dennis Rohan of Williamsville, NY; sisters-in-law: Connie Rohan of Superior; Angela Buhrman of O’Fallon, IL; Colleen Haggerty of Minden, IA; brother-in-law Tim (Maureen) Haggerty of Spalding; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Regina; his parents; brother: Jim Rohan; brother –in-law: Mike Haggerty; sister-in-law: Susan Rohan; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Chuck and Anna Marie Haggerty.
