Notice of the meeting was posted at the Village Office, Community First Bank, and the Post Office on May 29, 2025. The Board of Trustees Meeting of the Village of Trenton was called to order on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 5:30 PM in the Village Office with the following members present: BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Drain, Hodges, McDonald, Swanson, Eldridge. BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: NONE. STAFF PRESENT: Clerk McCauley, Superintendent Caddick, Deputy Aneas, Attorney Schroeder Chairman McDonald opened the meeting at 5:30 PM. and made the Open Meetings Act announcement and stated that the poster is on the wall for all to view. Roll Call – Hodges, Swanson, Eldridge, Drain, McDonald Citizen Forum: A resident is inquiring about seeing the building for sale before sale happens. Superintendent Caddick stated someone should be able to let him in this week. Motion Hodges to approve Agenda for June 10, 2025, regular meeting, second Eldridge Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Hodges to approve minutes from Regular Meeting May 13, 2025, second Swanson. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Eldridge to approve May Treasurers Report second Hodges. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. WAPA Contract Adjustment (RUNDELL): This is a pilot program that is being tested out more information available in the office. Motion Hodges for McDonald to sign the adjusted contract with WAPA, second Drain. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried.

REPORTS OF OFFICERS BOARD COMMITTEES

PARK/POOL: Swanson expressed concern to keep the pool pumped out during this season. STREET/TRASH/UTILITY: No report. ATTORNEY SCHROEDER: MODEL ORDINANCES: No ordinances need added, as all are current state statutes. NUISANCE LETTERS: Discussion had on maintaining the Village’s properties if we are beginning to send out nuisance letters to set a good example. During our transitional period with employees, Attorney Schroeder suggested hiring seasonal help. Motion Eldridge, second Drain to hire summer help to clean up village properties. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Eldridge to move forward with signing and sending nuisance letters, second Drain. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. 20/20 UPDATE: The contract has ended, we are advised to sign a root waiver for administrator access.

ORDNANCE OR RESOLUTIONS

CHICKENS: Example ordinances were presented. Ordinance is still in progress. RESOLUTION FOR SALE: Sale of building needs to be moved to August to allow time to get surveyed first. Superintendent Caddick: Caddick will be on vacation June 16-20. Water: Water tower problem was a broken valve that has been replaced. Sewer: No current issues Electric: Substation being worked on in down time. Bucket truck inspection set for June 18, annual tests to stay active. Trash/Park: Caddick is taking over trash route until someone is hired. Heads Up Sprinklers have mapped park to begin installing new sprinklers at the end of June. Street: Snow blower attachment was purchased. Shelco completed projects. Caddick asked the Board to think of the next ones to be considered. Village Clerk: Bishop proposal and demo for digitizing office paperwork. Great Plains Fiber proposal. Audit update-still working on it. Meter readings will be on June 23-25. Leaving for the LONMF conference next week. Surveyor needed for selling property of 409 Main. Two proposals given. Auburn Housing Study and Comprehensive Plan Presented an example study discussed how necessary for grants. Firewall/ Access Point office IT needs. Water Bonds from BOK Financial and NE Dept. of Environment and Energy discussion about this to show new Board Members. July 17-22 Jo will be on vacation. PTO continued discussion and example given. Currently looking for office specific Purchasing Policy but following state statutes for now. El Dorado: Last appointment cancelled, price vs amount of work is holding sales back.

Unfinished Business

Hay Bid- Motion Drain to accept bid for haying at 133 acres more or less at the price of $4,500 one-time, second Eldridge. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried.

Motion Hodges to sign 20/20 root waiver second Swanson. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Hodges to close the office June 18-20 for LONMAFC and to waive late fees for the month of June, second Drain. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Hodges to hire Miller & Associates at $1,200.00 to survey the property at 409 Main Street, second Swanson. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Swanson to buy firewall at $497.54, access point/backup at $653.97 second Eldridge. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Kennell license in town- not interested. Atv/go kart/ etc-discussion had. Motion Drain to end Aneas probationary period and employee at $17.00 hour effective Monday June 23, 2025, second Swanson. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Bishop business, Board of Trustees would like to wait until new budget. Motion Hodges to sign contract with Great Plains Communication for 48 months upon clarification of shop internet, second Swanson. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Eldridge to hire K. Anderson pending U/A at $15.00/hour for no more than 100 hours a month, second Swanson. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion Eldridge to hire D. Anderson pending U/A at $15.00 hour second Hodges. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried. Motion  Hodges to approve bucket truck inspection under the amount of $2,500.00, second Swanson. Ayes: 5 Nays: 0 Motion Carried.
