 Notice of the Regular Board Meeting was posted at the Village Office, Community First Bank, and the Post Office on March 2, 2026.
 The Board of Trustees Meeting of the Village of Trenton was called to order on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, at 5:30 PM, in the Village Office, with the following members present: BOARD MEMBER PRESENT: Hodges, McDonald, Eldridge, Drain, Swanson. BOARD MEMBER ABSENT: NONE. STAFF PRESENT: Mackley, Schroeder.
 Chairman McDonald opened the Regular Meeting at 5:30 PM and made the Open Meetings Act announcement, stating that the poster is on the wall for all to view.
 Roll Call – Hodges, Eldridge, Drain, McDonald, Swanson
 Citizen Forum- none.
 2. Motion Eldridge to approve the agenda for the March 10, 2026, Regular Board of Trustees Meeting seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.
 3. Motion Hodges to approve the February 10, 2026, Regular Meeting minutes, seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.
 4. Motion Hodges to approve February Treasurers Report, seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.
 5. Reports of Officers, Board Committees-Baxter to fix the columns at the park. Hole in street by county shop is still waiting to hear from Johnson, they’ve reached out to Miller and Johnson and are waiting for bids.
 6. Schroeder -discussion on current nuisance property.

  7.1ORDINANCE NO. 874 – AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO abandonment, neglect, and mistreatment of animals; to harmonize with state law; to repeal conflicting ordinances and sections; and to provide an effective date.
 Ordinance 874 introduced by Trustee Hodges. Motion Hodges seconded by Eldridge to suspend the statutory reading of the ordinance on 3 separate days. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried.
 Motion Hodges seconded by Drain to pass and adopt Ordinance #874 on final reading. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried. Motion by Hodges seconded by Eldridge to publish Ordinance #874 in pamphlet form. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried.
  7.2 ORDINANCE NO. 875 – AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO beverage licenses; village powers and duties; to harmonize with state law; to repeal conflicting ordinances and sections; and to provide an effective date.
 Ordinance 875 introduced by Trustee Hodges. Motion by Hodges, seconded by Drain to suspend the statutory reading of the ordinance on 3 separate days. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried. Motion by Hodges seconded by Eldridge to pass and adopt Ordinance 875 on final reading. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried. Motion by Hodges seconded by Eldridge to publish Ordinance 875 in Pamphlet form. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried.
 ORDINANCE NO. 876 – AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO generally applicable definitions; to harmonize with state law including revising the citation to Neb. RS 49-801 (17); to repeal conflicting ordinances and sections; and to provide an effective date.
 Ordinance 876 introduced by Trustee Hodges. Motion by Hodges seconded by Eldridge to suspend the statutory reading of the Ordinance on 3 separate days. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried. Motion by Hodges seconded by Drain to pass and adopt Ordinance #876 on final reading. Ayes:5 Motion carried. Motion by Hodges seconded by Drain to publish Ordinance #876 in pamphlet form.  ORDINANCE NO. 877 – AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO petition, write-in, and other candidates for general election ballot; procedures; to harmonize with state law; to repeal conflicting ordinances and sections; and to provide an effective date.
 Ordinance #877 introduced by Trustee Hodges. Motion by Hodges seconded by Drain to suspend the statutory reading of the ordinance on 3 separate days. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried.  ORDINANCE NO. 878 – AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO maximum speed limits; to harmonize with state law; to repeal conflicting ordinances and sections; and to provide an effective date.
 Ordinance # 878 introduced by Trustee Hodges. Motion Hodges seconded by Eldridge to suspend the statutory reading of the ordinance on 3 separate days. Ayes: 5 Motion Hodges seconded by Eldridge to pass and adopt Ordinance 878 on final reading. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried. Motion by Hodges seconded by Eldridge to publish Ordinance #878 in Pamphlet form.  ORDINANCE NO. 879 – AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO special elections; to repeal conflicting ordinances and sections; and to provide an effective date.
 Ordinance #878 was introduced by Trustee Hodges. Motion by Hodges, seconded by Eldridge to suspend the statutory reading of the ordinance on 3 separate days. Ayes: 5 Motion carried. Motion Hodges seconded by Eldridge to pass and adopt Ordinance 879 on final reading. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried. Motion Hodges seconded by Drain to publish Ordinance 879 in Pamphlet form. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried.
 8.  Maintenance Reports
  8.1 Aneas attended NERWA water conference with a scholarship to pay for attendance.
  8.2 Cummins quote presented to service generator at lagoon.
  8.3 Mean reps came to town and overall things are looking good.
  8.4 Vap has materials ordered- trash barn doors should be done by the end of March.
  8.5 Miller and Johnson still looking at options for culvert repair.
  8.6 D. Jim Miller hired as superintendent to start on March 16th.
  8.7 42 pets currently licensed.
 9. Village Clerk
  9.1 Meter readings March 23-25
  9.2 Rate change on water and electricity is complete.
  9.3 Asked Board to make list of amendments and will have to consult Pam Bourne before final changes can be approved.
  9.4 RVW class in Kearney in May for mapping
  9.5 K. Anderson for review in June
  9.6 Aneas annual review tabled until present
  9.7 JEO-no pool project update yet, waiting on drafts
  9.8 Nuisance properties A & B discussed
  9.9 Clerk school March 15-21 Board Members will cover some office hours. No late fees to be applied for March.
 10. Library Report: Cleanup day with the high school will be April 24, 2026
 11. Housing Report: none
 12. Fire Report: none
 13. Unfinished Business: Motion by Hodges to hire C. Sandmann for Trash Truck Driver at $20.00 an hour 30 hours a week, seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5 Motion Carried.
 14. New Business:
  14.1 Motion Hodges to accept Cummins Maintenance bid at $1,110.35 for generator at sewer lagoon, seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5 Motion carried.
  14.2 Motion Hodges to keep K. Anderson’s annual evaluation in June as scheduled, seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5 Motion carried.
  14.3 Motion Drain to send nuisance letters to property A and B seconded by Swanson. Ayes: 5 Motion carried.
 15. Correspondence- Annual easter egg hunt
 16. Claims- Motion Hodges to approve claims with amendment of adding $100.00 to Pan Handlers from Keno funds, seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5 Motion carried.
