Janet Lee November 20, 1943 ~February 26, 2026

 Janet Lee, beloved wife of Norman Lee, peacefully passed away at her home in Arizona with family by her side on February 26, 2026, at the age of 82. The family is planning a celebration of her life to be held in her home town of Benkelman.  Janet was born November 20, 1943, in Benkelman, and was the youngest sibling of seven children. She graduated from high school in 1962, and later attended Community College in McCook, where she received an Associate Degree in Education. After receiving her Degree she taught grades first through eighth in a one room school house in Benkelman.  Janet moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1967 to be with her older sister and family. She was hired by Interior Airways as a flight attendant in 1967 for a six month summer contract and then was hired by Wien Airlines in the fall of that year. While flying for Interior Airways she met her future husband, Norman Lee. They married September 7, 1968, and had two children. Janet had the joy of being a stay-at-home mom. The family moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1988 and later in 2018 the family purchased a home in Green Valley, Arizona to spend winters in a warmer climate.  Janet had the wonderful ability to make people laugh and she was adored by everyone. Friends and Family loved being around Janet because she was always so joyful. She was the love of Norman’s life. They were married for 57 ½ years.  Janet is survived by her husband, Norman Lee; her daughter, Mary Lee of Los Angeles, California; and her son, Norman K. Lee of Anchorage, Alaska and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leo and Doris McEvoy and her siblings; Indiana Wood, Curtis McEvoy, Doris Marie Randall, Rosemary Sauvage, Frank McEvoy and Geraldine Turpin.
