VILLAGE OF HAIGLER MARCH 04, 2026 REGULAR MEETING PROCEEDINGS
The Village of Haigler Board met for a Regular Meeting at 7:00p.m. held at the Village Board room. Notice of Meeting was posted in advance at the Haigler US Post Office, Family Market and Haigler Country Café and given to Board members prior to meeting.
Chairperson Irwin called the Meeting to order at 7:00p.m. and stated the location of the Open Meetings Act. Present: Board Members Haskell, Irwin, Gregory and Noffsinger. Tafoya arrived at 7:03p.m. Others present: Superintendent Casey Richard, Clerk/Treasurer Karen Testa, Chief Deputy Lucci and Deputy Jason Swartz. Public comments: none.
February Sheriff’s Dept. report presented; submitted by email from Chief Deputy Lucci. No Dundy County Commissioner report presented. Clerk report presented. Superintendent/maintenance report presented.
Motions were made, seconded, and carried for all approved items listed. Approved Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on February 4th, 2026. Approved to pay the March 2026 Claims. Approved the March 2026 Treasurer’s Report. Approved Resolution #2026-01 for Authorizing Chief Elected Official to sign an application for the West Central Nebraska Development District (Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Approved to change the date of April’s Regular Meeting from April 01 to April 08. Approved reimbursement to be paid to Sherri Gregory for the Village of Haigler’s website for the amount of $423.18 which will be paid at the next Village Board meeting. Approved to waive three separate readings for Ordinance #2026-01 regarding Liquor Regulations including Hours of Sale. Approved final passage and adoption of Ordinance #2026-01 regarding Liquor Regulations including Hours of Sale.
Chairman Irwin signed documents required for the CDBG process.
Board member Noffsinger updated the rest of the Board with an update on the frozen valve of the fire truck. The valve will be fixed by a metal machinist in Wray, Colorado.
The Village was contacted by the Dundy County Attorney. A March 16th, 2026 will be had with the County Commissioners to discuss the LEOP.
Discussion was had in regards to the LB 289 legislation for Village Board structure. At this time there will not be any reorganizing of the Village Board structure.
Review of LARM’s property valuation report and summary for the Village of Haigler was had with no changes needed. The Village of Haigler’s Superintendent signed the required document and will be submitted to LARM.
The next Regular Meeting will be held April 08, 2026 starting at 7:00p.m.
