PALISADE VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES REGULAR SESSION MINUTES JUNE 10, 2026
The Palisade Village Board of Trustees met in Regular Session Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the Village Office. MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Jason Hicks, Joe Vrbas, Randy Miner, Kaila Brown. ABSENT: Reid Ott. OTHER STAFF PRESENT: Kristin Ward, Attorney Phil Lyons. GUESTS PRESENT: none. Chairman Hicks called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was taken. Chairman Hicks made everyone aware of the Open Meeting Act Notice posted in the Village Board meeting room. A motion was made by Miner and seconded by Brown to approve the May 20, 2026 regular session minutes. Yea: Hicks, Miner, Vrbas, Brown. Nay: None. Abstain: none. Motion carried. The Board reviewed the financial statements. Claims were presented and reviewed by the Board. Motion was made by Vrbas and seconded by Miner to approve claims in the amount of $20,013.79. Yea: Hicks, Miner, Vrbas, Brown. Nay: None. Abstain: none. Motion carried. Motion was made by Miner and seconded by Vrbas to preapprove payroll for Junel 15, with the estimated dollar amount of $12,000. Yea: Hicks, Miner, Vrbas, Brown. Nay: None. Abstain: none. Motion carried.

Old Business:
The Board discussed LB 759 and the ramifications. Action will be decided at the next regularly scheduled meeting, July 8, 2026. Chairman Hicks updated the Board on the sewer repairs needed. The Board discussed the need for a vacuum for the pool.
New Business:
A motion was made by Vrbas and seconded by Miner to increase the Utility Superintendents wage by $1.00 for pesticide certification. Yea: Hicks, Miner, Vrbas, Brown. Nay: None. Abstain: none. Motion carried.
Citizen’s Comments:
The Board reviewed two separate citizen complaints. According to Village Ordinance and Nebraska law, the complaint has merit, and the Board instructed the Clerk to send a nuisance letter. Reports of Commissioners and Committees: Clerk Ward reported private donations for the pool. Utility Superintendent Martin reported the preparations taking place for the upcoming Pioneer Day’s celebration. Library/Cemetery Commissioner Miner reported the cemetery is ready for visitors. Park, Pool, and Housing Commissioner Brown reported the pool is going well. Street, Police and Tree Commissioner Ott discussed was absent and did not report. Water and Sewer Commissioner Vrbas reported that the Village has four dumpsters in need of repair/replacement. Health Commissioner Hicks gave his report.
Building Permits: None
