The Dundy County Stratton Board of Education met on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Dundy County Stratton High School.
President Noffsinger called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.

President Noffsinger stated that the board follows the Open Meetings Act Guidelines which are located in the meeting room. The Board of Education may enter closed session during the meeting when it determines that doing so is appropriate and is authorized by the provisions of the Open Meeting Act.

Awards and Recognitions
Fries and Stamm recognized the sponsor and cast for the Spring play “Clue” and what a nice performance that was presented. Fries recognized the student and staff for the work put into the spring concert. Stroup commended the track team as a whole for their performances and accomplishments so far this season. Ladenburger recognized all those who are responsible for running the track meet. Garey commended Klayton Rinne on his accomplishments as he not only graduated from Dundy County Stratton, he also graduated from Mid-Plains with his associate’s degree. O’Neil recognized Jody Crouse and Rochelle Craft for all their behind-the-scenes work. Freeland wanted to extend appreciation for all the task Mrs. Downey and Mrs. Fox do for the district and how they will be missed.

Transportation report: In written form with the addition of #8 is the current bus for the Stratton route that will be moved to the Haigler route for the 2025-2026 school year. Possibility of the need to purchase another bus in the near future.

Consent Agenda

The consent agenda includes the verification of notice of the meeting by publication in the Benkelman Post & News Chronicle, a legal newspaper for Dundy County and to each member of the board, approval of the minutes from the April 14, 2025 regular meeting, the approval of the bills as presented in the amount of $569,877.95 for the general fund $39,594.26 for the activity fund; $22,181.73 for the nutrition fund; $13,200.00 special building fund; add Premier Bank as an approved depository institution.

Garey stated that the district is very healthy financially. The Nutrition Fund will need to be amended at the June meeting.

Trevor Horner represented the CRA to answer any questions or concerns with the City of Benkelman Annual Report on Community Redevelopment Project. All previous TIF projects have been closed.
