Notice of the Regular Board Meeting was posted at the Village Office, Community First Bank, and the Post Office on May 4, 2026.  The Board of Trustees Meeting of the Village of Trenton was called to order on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at 5:30 PM, in the Village Office, with the following members present: BOARD MEMBER PRESENT: Hodges, McDonald, Eldridge, Drain, Swanson BOARD MEMBER ABSENT: NONE. STAFF PRESENT: Mackley, Aneas, Miller  Chairman McDonald opened the Regular Meeting at 5:30 PM and made the Open Meetings Act announcement, stating that the poster is on the wall for all to view.  Roll Call – Hodges, Swanson, Drain, Eldridge, McDonald  Citizen Forum- none.  Motion Hodges to approve the agenda for the May 12th, 2026, Regular Board of Trustees Meeting, removing 8.1, 9.1, and 15.5, seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Swanson to approve the April 14th, 2026, Regular Meeting minutes, seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Eldridge to approve April Treasurers Report, seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Attorney Schroeder- Nothing to report  Motion Hodges to accept Resolution 2020-12-01 Amended resolution for the purpose of utility deposits seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Hodges to accept Resolution 2026-05-12 for the purpose of electric rates and service charges, seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Hodges to accept Resolution 2026-05-13 for the purpose of closing the Hwy for Harvest Festival on August 1st, seconded by Swanson. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Eldridge to accept Resolution 2026-05-14 for the purpose of supporting Ordinance 92.15 for cutting into streets and curbs, right away, seconded by Hodges. Ayes: 4 Abstain 1.  Reports of Officers: discussion on park sprinkler times and dumpster lids. Fire Report- unable to attend. Will be attending next meeting.  Housing Report- no report  Library Report- Library requested pay raise  Motion Hodges to table wage discussion until January for library, seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Maintenance Reports- Anderson is going to stay working longer, no need to advertise position currently. Bids discussed for South Shop. Brief discussion about the football field well. Need to purchase a multi-gas detector. Miller will provide K. Anderson’s evaluation. Skeeter classes are being held but will find one with testing opportunities. Sewer jetting is starting. Shelco provided a bid, Board of Trustees would like to see more bids.  Animals Licensed- 62.  Village Clerk- Meter readings will be May 20-22. Handbook amendments are being drafted, Vap is supposed to be working on trash barn this month, Vacant property registry fact sheet was presented to Board Members. Main computer needs to be replaced due to poor performance recently. Contractor and Business licenses are supported in our Ordinance book; new applications have been created. Start looking at calendars for budget workshops. Nuisance property inquiry about becoming rental.  Unfinished Business- Baxter interested in pool engineering report, new swing is in order process, South Shop to be discussed again at budget time, discussion had to wait on advertising maintenance position.  New Business- Motion Hodges to approve purchase of two computers at the price of $1,899.99, and two monitors at the price of $599.99 seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Eldridge to purchase Honeywell multi gas detector at the price of $616.89 seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Discussion had on rental rates. Postponed to study rates for next month. Discussion to find skeeter testing locations and dates  Motion Hodges to purchase Cloud AWS online storage at the rate of $32.37 monthly subscription, seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Swanson to amend December claims item 12. Board Payroll due to having the incorrect total, seconded by Eldridge. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Swanson to waive Peddlers Permit fee’s for Harvest Festival 2026, seconded by Drain. Ayes: 5. Motion carried.  Motion Hodges to accept Drain resignation letter from the Village Board of Trustees, second Eldridge. Ayes: 4. Abstain: 1. Motion carried.  Motion Swanson to advertise vacant Board of Trustees position, second Eldridge. Ayes: 4 Motion carried.  Motion Eldridge to approve May 2026 claims with the removal of #35 Schroeder and Schroeder due to no bill being received, second Swanson. Ayes: 4. Motion carried.  Discussion for next meeting: trash truck services  Motion Eldridge to adjourn at 7:12 PM second Hodges. Ayes: 4.
